CodeNEXT is the new City of Austin initiative to revise the Land Development Code, which determines how land can be used throughout the city – including what can be built, where it can be built, and how much can (and cannot) be built.

Westminster Glen remains zoned as Rural Residential (RR). However, there are some changes to RR specifications, the major one being that Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) - a small dwelling structure for rent - are allowed:

  • One ADU is allowed on the property when participating in the Affordable Housing Bonus Program. This program allows one ADU on the property for the purpose of rental as affordable housing. See links below for details.
  • There are no other allowed uses of the property except for single family homes. The current RR zoning allows for a number of different uses, all of which are prohibited by our CC&Rs.
